I inherited or rather in the process of transfer of a property following the death of my mother as stipulated in joint will of both my parents.  However, there is a condition of usufruct for my farther until his death.  That in principle I do not have a problem with as I have been looking after both parent for the past 6 year due to serious health issues, however the property has been used for the past 20 year and still being used for a successfull business which my farther do not have any interest in nor benefit from this business.  The business cannot be without the property and the property cannot be without the income from the business.

“A Usufruct is a right to have the use and enjoyment of another’s property and to take its fruit from it…”

Only yesterday I was only made aware of this and the interpretation thereof as well as the posibility of what can happen.  The mere thought that this can be possible scares me to a degree that I cannot function currently.  Does this statement then mean that whatever I have worked for and build up for the past 19 year he now has a claim on ( and to take its fruit)

Please can someone explain this to me.  Should I consult a lawyer as soon as possible.
