My pregant wife works in a cold environment (Fridge) for Woolworths Food. She always getting sick and my family doctor wrote a recommendation letter to her manager to tell her to excuse her from working in a cold environment at least up until she has given birth. The fridge could harm her in her condition and her unborn baby could also be negatively affected by this environment.
Woolworths has rejected the doctors recommendation and advised that my wife sees a specialist only then can they consider this. This is tje Woolworths HR policy. I consider this very unfair, we have been to the doctor and now who must pay the specialist, we can afford a specialist. What is our legal rights in this matter?
