I rented a self catering unit for the weekend.  I sat on a plastic chair in the lounge which broke under me and made a hole in a leather couch.  The owner now wants me to pay an excessive amount of money to have it repaired.  It was an accident and not intentional.  Do I have the right to refuse to pay for the repair?  He did not go through the inventory with me before or after the stay.  He is also charging me for the plastic chair that broke.
